The Little Stour is a tributary of the main river and rises in the Barham area joining the Great Stour at Plucks Gutter.
It is a pure spring fed river holding quality fish and provides a most diverse selection of aquatic weeds which together with the abundant invertebrate population give some indication as to the reason for the fast growth rates of recent stockings of chub and barbel.
Due to the prolific weed growth summer fishing is not the easiest unless you are prepared to work on your swim but in the autumn and winter the water becomes much easier and has provided some interesting catches to both the match angler and pike fishermen.
Members may fish the north bank between the Blue Bridge and the river confluence at Plucks Gutter. Please see map for directions. |
